Conferences of the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education (UICEE)

On June 7-12, 2004, the 1st Euro-Asian International Conference on Ecological Aspects and Issues in Engineering Education will be held in Tomsk (June 7-8) and Barnaul (June 10-12) together with the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Altai State Technical University in collaboration with the Russian Association for Engineering Education. The theme of the Conference is Environmental Engineering Education in Siberia - Important Issues and Challenges.

details... In 2001, TPU ranked first in the competition of the Russian Ministry of Education Internal Quality Assurance Systems. In 2002, by the initiative of TPU, the Russian Association for Engineering Education, the Technical Universities Association of Russia and the Russian Academy of Sciences have established the Foundation for International Accreditation and Certification Assistance in the field of education and high technologies. The goal of FIACA is to assist Russian universities, research organizations, and industrial enterprises with international recognition of their intellectual activity results. In September 2002, our officers took part in Symposium 21 Century Engineer, which took place in St.-Petersburg Technical University and also in the 3rd Russian Seminar on Engineering Education Engineering Education in the 21st Century held in Taganrog State University of Radio Engineering. The participation of the TPU representative in these important events will foster internationalization of engineering education and give the technical universities a chance to integrate into the world educational structure, to improve old and develop new regional and international relations in engineering education.
