Ms. Nadejda Sena, a manager of educational projects of the Colorado University, has visited Tomsk Polytechnic University, including the Central Asia Centre for Engineering Education (CACEE), in November 2001. Ms. N. Sena visited the CACEE, the Distance Learning Institute at the TPU, the Centre for Foreign Students' Education, and other Language Centres of the University. During this visit, Ms. Sena met with Prof. A. Chuchalin, First Vice Rector of the TPU, Director of the CACEE; A. Groshev, Vice Rector on International Cooperation; T. Pyetrovskaya, the Director of the Centre for Foreign Students' Education, and A. Fyedorov, the Director of the Distance Learning Institute, and also with heads and representatives of a number of academic and research departments of the TPU. Discussed were the problems of collaboration between the TPU and Colorado Unversity in the field of the implementation of educational programmes, including MBA, the development of distance and open learning systems, the improvement of training in mathematics and natural science at the school level, and others. The agreement has been reached in the development of the joint educational programmes.
