On 20-22 November 2002, the Seminar on Internal Quality Assurance Systems, took place in Tomsk Polytechnic University. Many people from the Russian cities participated in this seminar, including Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Tomsk, Taganrog, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, and others. Representatives from foreign organizations took part in this Seminar: Managing Director of the chancellors department Mr. Hans-Helmut Gunther from Technische Universitat of Munich; Mark Hooley, International Business Development Manager, National Quality Assurance (NQA) and David I. Wood, Operations Director, NQA. They presented papers in the subject areas of the quality management system and certification of the universities and strategic planning as well. It was recommended to hold similar seminars annually.
